Te Reo
Te Reo is the annual peer reviewed
journal of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand. The editorial
board of Te Reo is comprised of scholars from around the globe,
with about half from New Zealand universities.
The Linguistic Society was founded
in Auckland in 1958, in order to "promote and pursue the
scientific description and study of the evolution and structure
of languages". The Society holds a Linguistics conference and a
Language and Society conference in alternate years. The society
also maintains a registry of Linguistic Thesis completed at New
Zealand Universities.
Issues of Te Reo are a good place to
look for literature on Maori and Pacific Island linguistics,
Asian linguistics, as well as the development of English in New
Zealand and Australia.
